  • Abstract:Seawater flue gas desulfurization(Seawater FGD)is a desulfurization method which uses seawater as absorbent. For its mature technology, reliable operation, without any additives, low cost and other reasons, this technology was used by smelteries and refineries by coastal, especially by coal-fired power plant that use sea water as cooling water. Because of the complexity of seawater composition, in a system of seawater as absorber to flue gas sulfur dioxide (SO2) absorption, the effects of absorbing efficiency is complex. In this paper, a packed absorption tower of 80 mm diameter and 1.3 m height for the experimental platform. Seawater alkalinity, liquid-gas ratio, temperature and other factors on simulated flue gas (a certain concentration of SO2 gas mixed with air) in the absorption rate of SO2 to do a preliminary exploration, The results show that the alkalinity and temperature on the impact of absorbing efficiency of SO2 are significantly at low liquid-gas ratio and it will disappear with the increase of liquid-gas ratio.
